14. Legal & Compliance Notes

14.1 General Disclaimer

This document is provided for informational purposes only. It describes the design, intent, and operational principles of the SEC.AGI system as of the time of writing. Nothing in this document constitutes legal, financial, or investment advice.

SEC.AGI hardware, software, and associated ecosystem components are provided on an “as is” basis, subject to applicable laws and regulations.

14.2 No Custodial Responsibility

SEC.AGI does not act as a custodian, trustee, or guarantor of assets.

All protected assets remain under the sole responsibility and ownership of the user. The system provides tools to preserve access integrity and ownership control but does not assume liability for asset loss, damage, or destruction under any circumstances.

14.3 Autonomous Action Disclosure

SEC.AGI is designed to operate autonomously and may take irreversible actions without real-time user confirmation when confidence thresholds indicate active threat.

By deploying SEC.AGI, users acknowledge and accept that:

  • Certain security actions cannot be reversed

  • Autonomous enforcement may occur when the user is unavailable

  • Convenience may be sacrificed to preserve ownership

Users are responsible for understanding and accepting these operational characteristics.

14.4 Regulatory Neutrality

SEC.AGI is designed to be jurisdiction-neutral and does not embed assumptions about local regulatory frameworks.

Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

  • Data protection and privacy laws

  • Physical security and surveillance regulations

  • Import, export, and use restrictions on security hardware

  • Digital asset custody and control requirements

SEC.AGI does not provide automatic compliance guarantees for any specific jurisdiction.

14.5 Data Protection Alignment

SEC.AGI’s architecture is designed to align with common data protection principles, including:

  • Data minimization

  • Purpose limitation

  • User control over data lifecycle

However, alignment does not constitute certification or legal compliance. Users and integrators remain responsible for ensuring lawful deployment.

14.6 Token-Related Disclosures

The SEC AGI token ($AGI) is a utility token intended to support protocol coordination and ecosystem participation.

The token:

  • Does not represent equity, ownership, or profit rights

  • Does not guarantee access to hardware functionality

  • Does not grant control over security enforcement

Participation in token-related activities involves independent risk and should be evaluated separately from SEC.AGI hardware usage.

14.7 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SEC.AGI and its contributors disclaim liability for:

  • Direct or indirect losses

  • Incidental or consequential damages

  • Loss of data, assets, or access

  • Misuse or misconfiguration of the system

Users assume all risks associated with deployment and operation.

14.8 Forward Compatibility and Change Notice

Specifications, features, and behaviors described in this document may evolve over time. Updates may be introduced to improve security, performance, or compatibility.

No future capability described herein should be interpreted as a binding commitment.

14.9 Acknowledgment of Responsibility

By deploying SEC.AGI, users acknowledge that autonomous security systems require informed use, careful configuration, and acceptance of trade-offs between convenience and protection.

14.10 Legal Summary

SEC.AGI is a tool for ownership preservation, not a legal guarantee.
Security is enforced technically, not contractually.
Responsibility remains with the owner.
